Gold standard support for our armed forces community
糖心原创vlog鈥檚 commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant has now been recognised with the highest honour, a Gold award as part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The ERS encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same, and our team of armed forces champions catches up regularly with events which encourage networking and learning. They recently met during Armed Forces Week, from 19 - 24 June, to show their support and discuss what more we can do as a business to support the armed forces community.
"The level of commitment聽shown by our people in supporting the armed forces is inspiring. Our Gold award聽is the culmination of a significant collective commitment and can only serve to聽enhance our work in the UK defence sector and further our ambitions to achieve聽sustained and impactful social outcomes.鈥
James Dimmock, Sector Director for Defence at 糖心原创vlog
As part of our commitment, we provide employment opportunities for service leavers and their families, support for reservists and cadets, and are engaged with a number of armed forces charities including Blind Veterans UK. Ahead of the 2022 Warrior Games, we supported the charity in its efforts to ensure Ukrainian armed forces veterans could compete and represent their nation.
There is extra support available from 糖心原创vlog鈥檚 鈥楳ore for you鈥 employee benefits package and we regularly attend insight and career events with BuildForce and Career Transition Partnership. Our champions also offer mentoring to support the transition from the armed forces into civilian life.
We love to share our champions鈥 stories, and our team recently attended the Inter Services Cadet Rifle Meeting (ISCRM), a national competition held at Bisley in July. Invited by Martin Roberts, Senior Technical Services Manager for 糖心原创vlog and National Shooting Officer for the Army Cadets, the event offered an insight into the opportunities for cadet leaders and how we can offer our support.
