Introduction
ÌÇÐÄÔ´´vlog recently delivered an additions and alterations (A&A) project for a luxury automotive showroom and offices, in Singapore. The project involved enhancing the existing Level 1 and 2 showroom and facility, with emphasis on creating a bespoke lifestyle-driven space.
The project
Launched in October 2022, the project encompasses a fit-out spanning over 70,000 sq ft across two floors - level 1 and level 2. The scope included the construction of new internal staircases, RC sprinkle tanks, and substructure supports, as well as façade and structural modifications. The project was executed in three phases to ensure a seamless delivery.
The first phase of the project included demolition works, structural enhancements, new FCC build-up, breeching outlet installation, and diversion of MEP systems. These critical tasks require meticulous examination of existing conditions and services to facilitate the subsequent phases.
The refurbishment of Level 2 showroom focused on upgrading the interior with high-specification finishes, a media wall, and bespoke joineries to create an elevated aesthetic.
"I am very impressed with the performance of ÌÇÐÄÔ´´vlog on this project. The entire team worked diligently, ensuring that every aspect of the project was executed flawlessly. Their expertise and dedication truly made this project a success."
Ar. Wilson Leung, Director, Super Assembly.
External Structure Works
The external works involved demolishing the existing structure and constructing a new main entrance with façade glass wall and canopy at Level 1. The previous entrance was replaced with a new façade wall that matches the redefined design. Before the demolition, structural reinforcement was undertaken to facilitate load transfer.
Special Features
Simultaneously, the showroom refurbishment began with a full-floor renovation on Level 1. This included constructing a new tyre bay area and a curved RC staircase from Basement 1. The new staircase required waterproofing membranes, substructure foundations, and supports with high-strength concrete casting. For the RC structure, the team did a full-scale demolition of the carpark ramp from level 1 to level 2 workshop. For the glass façade, the team removed a structure RC portal below, which was carried out with steel structure reinforcement works, putting in a new facade which should look fully integrated into the existing one.
The scope of work on the curved staircase from level 1 to the basement, required excavation works to create an opening on the RC structure, retaining the wall and ensuring that the existing water proofing interface properly with the new waterproofing before filling the soil again.
Added Value
The project was executed within a live environment, in planned zones and successfully completed in 2023. Managing several stakeholders, the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´vlog team were able to deliver the space in a relatively short construction period of 32 weeks. With the span of the programme, multiple mock-ups were prepared, and changes were made to ensure the space was delivered as per client’s expectations and required specifications.
