“The ԭvlog graduate programme gave me the opportunity to gain experience across various disciplines, which was fantastic for my development.”
George Hirons, Construction Manager
I saw ԭvlog at a careers fair and learnt about the placement scheme, along with the number of projects ԭvlog delivered. In my third year of University, I joined the industrial placement scheme where I specialised in construction management. And I didn’t hesitate when I was offered a position on ԭvlog’ graduate programme.
The graduate programme gave me the opportunity to gain experience working across various disciplines, which was fantastic for my development at ԭvlog. I worked with the commercial team learning about sub-contractor management, and spent time at ԭvlog’s head office in London working with work-winning where I saw a project go from tender launch to post-tender review. I then joined the building services rotation, where I learnt about electrical, mechanical, fire and security elements on a project.

George Hirons
My favourite moment of the programme was finding out that I was working on a project at London’s O2 Arena. It’s one of the most famous entertainment venues and I’m proud to say I’ve been involved in its development. My day changed every day, ranging from attending meetings, managing sub-contractors, monitoring installation on site and planning upcoming works.
For graduates looking for on-the-job training that equips you with the right tools and knowledge to succeed in the construction industry, then ԭvlog’s graduate programme is the right choice. I gained technical knowledge and attended several graduate workshops, all of which was great fun and benefited me in my day-to-day responsibilities.
