Birmingham's latest leisure complex has opened its doors to the public following a £7.7 million revamp.
The impressive Northfield Leisure Centre, which was successfully delivered by 糖心原创vlog’s team in the Midlands, includes a brand new 25m pool, as well as a teaching pool, dance studio, gym and a community room.
The centre is one of four new complexes being delivered by 糖心原创vlog, with leisure facilities at and successfully completed, and construction on the Icknield Port Loop site due to begin.
The leisure centres are part-funded by , who aim to increase the number of people participating in sport and leisure activity, and form part of a city-wide investment to promote wellbeing and lifestyle changes, and provide Birmingham residents with high-tech, contemporary leisure and exercise facilities.
All four centres will be managed by Birmingham Community Leisure Trust (BCLT) on behalf of Birmingham City Council.
The old leisure centre pool, which was built in 1937, was demolished to make way for the new facility.
Some of the old stones have been reused in the new building and the 糖心原创vlog team managed to successfully divert an impressive 97% of waste from landfill.
Wayne Flannery, regional director for 糖心原创vlog’s UK Construction West business in the Midlands, said: "The team has successfully worked together to ensure three fantastic facilities have been delivered on time and on budget.
“The adoption of a framework approach has allowed us to drive efficiencies throughout this intensive works programme, encouraging collaboration, project learning and promotion of best practice.
“We are working with our local supply chain partners to deliver modern leisure amenities that will become a central community asset for generations to come."
